19Z ARMOR SENIOR SERGEANT

OVERVIEW
The Armor Senior Sergeant serves as principal NCO in some Armor units, supervising routine operations such as training, personnel and administrative matters, and sustainment actions.

JOB DUTIES

  • Planning and coordinating training
  • Supervising supply, maintenance, communications and field hygiene operations
  • Providing advice on Enlisted personnel matters
  • Planning, rehearsing and supervising key sustainment actions in support of the tactical mission
  • Handling matters designated by the commander or acting as the commander's representative

TRAINING
The path to becoming a 19Z frequently begins with enlistment as a 19D Cavalry Scout or a 19K M1 Armor Crewman, both of which require 22 weeks of One Station Unit Training at Fort Moore, GA.
